I really didn't understand what does it mean being a women in this world. As growing up all the restrictions were made feel normal for our safety. Hardly I knew the safety which they were talking about is not only the part of patriacrchy but it's something that is been going on from centuary. For women that safety strip them of their rights, choices and voice. As I grew up I felt whatever I do it makes me feel caged and it was normal to see a men with roaming around with the their big chest carrying over confidence.
I honestly thought life without men is impossible, as surrounding which consist of religion, movies and safety involves men as a protector, men as a lover and men as abuser. Hence my views, my choices, my clothes were surrounding the world build on the ideology of these men. Until I saw a women my Mom who had to fight for basic things like money to have somefun, put her child to good school. My dad always created a helpless persona who only lives by the rules of his parents.
That I was my firsttime faceoff with the idea that not all rules are correct. School was full of such intimidating idea as well. So when i go to school I just don't think of What will I learn, but how will I perceive. When women is not good with studies she is manything like characterless but when men is not good with studies he just need good teacher.
Growing up as a women was not only about different clothes, but sports, dos and don't, curfew, we have to learn more task like kitchen, serving, cleaning but my brother has to do only do what a kid should be doing. And in the end they will say Women are more mature than men.
Even my laugh was controlled, my wiseling was control, they way I sit was also control I didn't how much was clouded in my brain until I saw some women who called those things out and actually sitting in a portion which is not consider appropritate.
When you notice one things, you will see the cascade of this patriachal thing. You will not only see how different is your past but you will be able to notice how different future is availble for you based on thier patriachal idealogy. Weirdly you have a space to complain and cry because all they will say this is all going on from centuary for your safety.
When you ask a question why safety the answer will be bit hard to digest. The answer is because men cannot follow rules, they cannot control their ego, or urges so something else has to do it. So even if you agree to follow all the rules tht's for your safety there is hard truth that safety is not gauranteed. All this for nothing, you live a time that is because some cowards didn't wanted to
